Videomaker: Lighting for Night Video Shoots

Lighting is THE most crucial part of being an Indie Film Maker. Get your lighting wrong and everyone will know you’re an amateur.  However, with good to great lighting you can shoot your indie films with cheaper/less expensive camera gear because most cameras, if not all, provide a decent image if given enough light. I’ve got a small JVC DV camera that is old and light. The image is o.k., but when given the proper amount of light, it looks much more professional. Given this information, you should do as much work to learn about lighting as possible so that even the most light budget for shooting your film will be a successful one.

After watching this video, let us know how you’ve used these techniques or different ones in the comments below.

New Film State: Underworld Awakening & Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance

I have to say I’m not all in with Ryan’s predictions. I do hope that the underworld series doesn’t run into “suckage.”

New Film Riot Episode: Throwing Rocks vs. Bullets in Water

Great new episode in which they torture Bruno once again.

Another suggestion may be to use a BB gun or pellet gun to simulate the effect. If you have other thoughts, please post a comment right here with Indie Sessions.

New Film Riot Episode: Locations and Improvised Dolly

Great new episode by Film Riot. They talk about selecting locations and a wheelchair as a dolly. I’ve used multiple things as dollys. For example, you can use skateboards, two wheel dollys, heavy furniture dollys, vehicles and you can construct one from tutorials that are abundantly available on the interweb thingy.

If you have a cool story about an improvised dolly, feel free to post it right here to share with other indie film makers.

Twin Boys Needed – 2.5 to 3.5 years old – Courtesy: Sharon Smith Talent

Searching for Twin Boys for “Stoker” – Posted: Tue Aug 23 16:09:19 MST 2011

I am seeking identical twin boys for the role of BABY JONATHAN:  Blonde hair, blue eyes, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years of age.  They need to be comfortable walking up and down steps holding the hand of an adult.  They need to be willing to let their mother be out of their sight-line.  They need to be able to inter-act with an older child.
If you know someone that has Twin Boys that fit the description please email me or have them email me at sharon@sharonsmithtalent.com
Thanks  Sharon
